Teleconferencing

A telephone conference that allows participants from around the world access to the conference call by dialing a toll free number. A telephone operator then joins the participants into the call after qualifying them to make sure that they are entering the appropriate session.

  • Requirements: Telephone capable of dialing toll free numbers.

Sites with multiple participants are encouraged to call-in on one line and use a speaker phone to enable group participation.

Real-time Captioning

A captioner joins the teleconference to transcribe the discussion as the event occurs through a custom designed interface. The session transcript allows participants to follow along and interact via the internet.

  • Requirements: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, Microsoft Window 98 or higher, Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, Internet Access, enable Javascript, enable cookies.

Before signing up for this service make sure you test your system for compatability with Closed–Captioning.

Real-time Streaming Audio

A live audio transmission of the event via the internet using Windows Media Player. The interface allows participants to follow along and interact via the internet. This new system allows you to listen and interact via your computer.

  • Requirements: Windows Media Player only, broadband internet connection (cable, DSL, T1), enable JavaScript, enable cookies, MS Windows 98 or higher, Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher and speakers
